NOT A WINTER PANSY

Ornamental flower

This shot was taken so that I could emphasize the flower by blurring the background. The way I did this was to use my Canon 450D with a 50mm F1.8 lens.
Taken at :
1/200th sec
F1.8
ISO 200
Although if I Had taken the same shot at F20 with a much faster shutter speed and the same ISO, then I would have achieved both the foreground as well as the background in focus giving me a greater depth of field.

  1. I was so excited to see a winter pansy but it's not :( However, you are quite the photographer and already have some beautiful pictures. In that typical tutor role, keep up the good work.
